This work is inspired by ‘stone’ cells - hardened crystalline fibres which have recently been theorized to bring light deeper into plant tissue for photosynthesis. These ‘dead’ cells function like tiny optic-fibres, apparatuses of mediation between sunlight and other cells. Like a rogue dead pixel, a stone cell (found within a sheet of paper, resting against a laptop screen) zooms in and follows the outline of a plant.
